It is being investigated to see if the University of the Incarnate Word senior was carrying a weapon at the time of his encounter with a campus police officer.
A 23-year-old dean’s list student who was killed outside a Texas college by a campus police officer Friday was first warned by the officer he would shoot, according to a student who was nearby.
The victim, University of the Incarnate Word senior Robert Cameron Redus, allegedly responded with sarcasm before the fatal shooting occurred.
“I heard (a man) say, ‘Oh, you’re gonna shoot me?’ like sarcastic almost,” said Mohammad Haidarasl, 22, according to the San Antonio Express-News.
